"A People of Prevailing Prayer"

The 2017 Annual Meeting of the Historical Society of Church of God Movements will convene on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. at the Ministry Training Center of the Church of God of Prophecy International Offices in Cleveland, Tennessee. For the first time ever, the meeting will also be offered via live simulcast, online. This year’s meeting will feature three presentations on the topic of "A People of Prevailing Prayer."

Dr. James Beaty will share the first presentation, "Prevailing Prayer in the Early Days of the Church of God," followed by Bishop Adrian L. Varlack, Sr. who will share "Bishop A.J. Tomlinson: A Prevailing Prayer Profile.” The final presentation will come from Bishop Brian T. Sutton on “Prevailing in Prayer Moving Forward.”

“In recent years I've been encouraged to see a resurgence in the attention many of our movements are giving to the ministry of prayer,” said Shaun McKinley, acting president of the Society as well as Prayer Ministries Coordinator for the Church of God of Prophecy. “It is my hope that this year's meeting will remind us of the passion, commitment, and fervency in prayer that our forefathers and mothers understood was the foundation for their work and that this reminder will inspire us to recommit ourselves to lives of passionate, prevailing prayer.”

The meeting is open to the public and admission is free. The Ministry Training Center is located behind the Church of God of Prophecy International Offices and White Wing Bookstore at 3720 Keith Street NE in Cleveland.

Those wishing to participate via the live simulcast should register in advance through the Church of God of Prophecy Prayer Ministries website atwww.cogopprays.org.
